Amanda Gianfrancesco
Busch Supervisor Achievement Award
With her smile and charm, Amanda Gianfrancesco is always a great supervisor to work with. Throughout her time as a supervisor Amanda has managed to keep on top of everything she's responsible for whether it's PTS, scheduling, hiring, preparing for the NET or scheduling 1 on 1 trainings. She always manages to find time to make sure the lab is running smoothly and all tasks are complete. In addition to the normal duties Amanda is assigned, she also took on another role this semester and was promoted to Lab Supervisor. Although she seemed unsure of her abilities as a Lab Supervisor, she has risen to the position and exceeded all of our expectations. She is never afraid to correct a consultant’s behavior or enforce policies. Amanda has developed a relationship with the consultants and other supervisors that enable them to come to her with anything they have on their minds. She’s responsible, friendly and caring. Amanda treats every person that approaches her with a question or problem with the utmost attention. Like most people, there are things she’s still learning, but she’s never afraid to ask a question or get clarification of someone's needs before continuing. When she does a job, it’s done right and on time. Amanda's attitude is one of her greatest traits. She is a little firecracker of energy! She is non-judgmental, encouraging, and outgoing. She welcomes everyone and is always willing to help. You won’t know when Amanda is under stress. Her pixie-like smile as we walk in the supervisor door is one that can brighten a room. Congratulations, Amanda, on being selected Busch Supervisor of the Semester! {mb,wll}
Albert Lee
Busch Consultant Achievement Award
Albert Lee is the unanimous vote for Consultant of the Semester at the Busch Labs. His enthusiasm for the job is unrivaled amongst other consultants. Albert has definitely made his mark on ARC Lab. If he were to ever leave us, we might go through a period of withdrawal! But you can’t really blame us: from simple consultant duties to special projects, if there was ever anything that needed to be done and Albert was on duty, he was your man. As courteous as he is knowledgeable, Albert is a well-known face even to the patrons that frequent the lab since more often than not he is there and not only willing but able to help them in any way he can. And he does it all with a bright and sincere smile on his face, even after hours upon hours of being on duty. His calm demeanor and helpful attitude have made him an exceptional consultant to have on duty. In addition to knowing as much as he can about the computers that are in the lab, Albert has also taken a personal interest in the DML equipment and software. Albert can easily help out patrons with questions on projects being worked on in the DML. But Albert doesn't just help out patrons that come to the lab, he is also always willing to help out a fellow consultant in need. Whether they have a question or a shift they want covered, Albert is always there to lend a hand and pitch in where he can. As for special projects, Albert has worked on a video project for the New Employee Training and for Rutgers Day. He volunteered to help without hesitation. He is a pleasure to work with, and an asset we are lucky to have. It is for these reasons and many more that we have chosen Albert Lee as the Busch consultant of the semester. Congratulations Albert! Albert is an indispensable part of the staff, and receiving this award was only a matter of time. {kp,wc,mb,wll}
Kristina Borisova
College Avenue Supervisor Achievement Award
Kristina Borisova quickly started her productive Spring Semester with coordinating much of the administrative work leading up to and following Site Specific training. She took an active role on the NBCS Student Hiring Committee by updating documentation, attending committee meetings, and lobbying for changes and improvements that she believed would benefit OIT. Kristina also put her knowledge of the hiring process to work through teaching our new supervisors in training the ropes of application reviews, applicant tracking, and interviews. In addition to her hiring duties, Kristina worked numerous hours to update the new employee manual. Beyond her regular duties, Kristina did a splendid job of showcasing The Alcove, College Avenue's new collaborative learning space, on Rutgers Day. Kristina has become one of the more prominent and proactive leaders on College Avenue. Kristina is not shy about her opinions and will be sure to let you know what she thinks, often bringing new ideas and proposals to the table. This is truly appreciated since student input and constructive suggestions are much needed. Many times her managers ask her to complete a project or task, but are likely to discover she is already working on it or it is done. When it comes to work ethic, she is efficient, organized, and incredibly dependable. She is always making sure that the lab is running smoothly. For example, she has made the hiring process this year a lot easier on everyone by coordinating much of the hiring efforts on College Avenue, and reviewing paperwork issues during the NBCS New Employee Training. Kristina not only watches over the lab, but she also looks out for her fellow supervisors and consultants. Kristina makes it a point to keep her fellow supervisors well-fed by bringing in fruit and other baked goods. Her light-hearted humor and wit make her a pleasure to work with. Kristina also likes to make sure the Supervisor Office is clean and in order. Her pleasant personality and leadership skills demonstrate to our staff how important she is to our staff. It is for these reasons that we are proud to announce Kristina Borisova as College Avenue's Supervisor of the Semester. {mmf,cmb,bo}
Matthew Korostoff
College Avenue Consultant Achievement Award
Matt is clearly one of our most well-rounded consultants. He always goes above and beyond the basic requirements of a seasoned consultant. He makes it a point to ensure that the lab is running optimally. Matt is always willing to bring suggestions to supervisors that are geared toward improving the lab. Throughout the academic year, Matt has come up with helpful signs and decorations that have made the lab more welcoming to patrons. Matt is always busy coming up with new ideas to bring to the attention of CAC management. Matt is currently working on a new bulletin board that will be put outside of the entrance of the Records Hall lab. Also, Matt enjoys utilizing his Photoshop skills for creating lab signs. Every sign he creates has a theme. For example, his consultant signs coincide with the season or an upcoming holiday. This demonstrates how he is willing to take the extra step to make the lab more patron-friendly. Aside from decorating the lab, Matt always goes above and beyond to help out any patron in need of assistance. He is willing to explore every potential solution in order for a patron to get desired results. Matt has definitely been one of our most enthusiastic employees throughout his tenure at CAC. He has certainly made it a joy for consultants and managers to work with him. With that being said, we are proud to announce Matt Korostoff as College Avenue’s Consultant of the Semester! {bo}
Lauren Griffin
Cook/Douglass Supervisor Achievement Award
Stacey and I are pleased and proud to name Lauren Griffin as Supervisor of the Semester for the Cook/Douglass campus. "Griffy" (who also won the award last semester) has continued to show her excellent leadership capabilities during the spring semester. Management has come to expect this from her and she always delivers. Leadership is the most important attribute of a Lab Supervisor. She has earned the respect of her peers and the admiration of her managers. Griffy is by nature a fun loving person, and does a wonderful job creating a light and cheery atmosphere at Loree. But even beyond that, she is diligent in her duties and keeps on top of all of her responsibilities (which are many). Please join us in congratulating Lauren Griffin as Cook/Douglass’ Supervisor of The Semester. (pd)
Brendan McEnerney
Cook/Douglass Consultant Achievement Award
Brendan McEnerney has consistently been ranked by the Cook/Douglass supervisors as among the most valuable assets to our consultant team since he was hired this fall. His tireless dedication to furthering his knowledge of lab procedures and sharpening his technological understanding has made Brendan worthy of the Consultant of the Semester award. In addition to the many valuable skills he brings to the job, Brendan is a cheerful spirit in the labs and he makes sure to offer support to his coworkers by aiding them with patron problems or by providing valuable feedback to them. In addition to being a strong team player, Brendan has been genuinely thankful whenever he’s been on the receiving end of professional accolades. Already he is the recipient of two Consultant of the Month awards this year, Brendan will no doubt continue to demonstrate his tremendous work ethic and commitment to his position when he returns to the lab next year. Congratulations, Brendan. Thank you for a semester of hard work and a job well done! (sr)
Melissa Boyd
Help Desk Consultant Achievement Award
Melissa began working for the Help Desk during the Fall of 2008. Since then, she has learned a great deal and has excelled in her performance. Melissa is known for her excellent communication and customer service skills. She also writes very impressive tickets and follows procedures very well. Currently, she is pursuing an undergrad degree in Geology and plans to attend graduate school. Prior to studying Geology, Melissa served five years in the US Army as an air traffic controller and spent one year in Afghanistan. After completing a Masters in Geology, Melissa hopes to one day become a professor. Her hobbies include paleontology and outdoor activities such as running, biking and hiking. Melissa says that part she enjoys most about this job is that she learns something new almost every day from her experiences with users and from her coworkers. She says she came in knowing much less about technology than she does now and she is honored to receive this award. Melissa, keep up the good work and congratulations on being named the Help Desk Consultant of the Semester for the Spring of 2009! {sm}
Peter Ondishin
Help Desk Supervisor Achievement Award
Peter Ondishin began at the Help Desk as a Consultant in September 2007, then became first an Operator and then an Assistant Supervisor in the Spring of 2008. Throughout his time at the Help Desk, Pete has been friendly, helpful, and outgoing. He always treats the callers with respect, which has won him recognition, most recently with a Customer Service Appreciation Award for April 2009. As an Assistant Supervisor, he helps the consultants he mentors to provide the same excellent level of service. Pete also shows initiative in his work, whether with small tasks, such as volunteering to take calls during busy periods, or larger ones, such as developing a replacement RN call scripts system for the Help Desk groups. He has been equally effective in the administrative role, cheerfully taking meeting minutes or contributing to the one-on-one training manual. Pete is graduating this semester with a double major in Political Science and Psychology. After graduating, he plans to pursue an MBA in accounting. In his spare time, he has been doing freelance web design. We congratulate Pete on being the Help Desk Supervisor of the Semester for Spring 2009. {cj}
Lawrence Lee
Livingston Supervisor Achievement Award
Lawrence Lee has been a great asset to the Livingston team this year. He has been a constant source of support and encouragement for his fellow supervisors and the consultants with whom he worked. He tackled issues in a deliberate and intelligent manner, always coming to a satisfactory resolution. Aside from his excellent handling of day to day lab activities, Larry also worked on a number of projects for the lab. He worked on designing advertising for our new Group Study Area and expanded Livingston Learning Center computer lab. This included designing the look and content of a new web page that is linked off of the main Computer Labs web page, as well as various signage and bulletin boards at the Livingston Labs. Larry also provided lots of time and energy to the PrintGreen project, designing the identity (logo, typography, etc.) That was ultimately chosen to represent the project. This is all in addition to designing various new signage throughout the semester for the Livingston Labs. In addition, Larry worked on a new shift calendaring system for Livingston that generates easy to maintain and post shift calendars as well as web calendars that are viewable with mobile browsers. This greatly enhanced the processing and distribution of shift information for our staff. Larry can always be counted on to find problems and come up with solutions to those problems. He was willing to offer his insight to issues and present options he felt would resolve those issues in a satisfactory way. He could always be counted on to lend a hand and pitch in when possible. This will be Larry's last semester working for the Livingston Labs. He will be moving on to study physics at Yale University, and working on exciting research projects as part of his program. We will certainly miss Larry, and all of his intellectual and analytical discussions of all topics in the Labs and the world!). For all that he has contributed to the labs this semester and in semesters past, we name Lawrence Lee the Spring 2009 Supervisor of the Semester. Congratulations, Larry! {lw,mk}
Snehal Patel
Livingston Consultant Achievement Award
Since starting at the Livingston Computing Center in the Fall, Snehal has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the lab. Whenever Snehal is working, all the supervisors can count on him to be on top of his game, providing patrons with the best service possible. Snehal is always available to help us out with staffing, even if it's 7:00 in the morning. Furthermore, he is always proactive in seeking out ways to help the Supervisors, whether it is giving feedback on our current projects, suggesting new projects, or even attempting to solve other issues. He has recommended several things to enhance the patrons' experience in the labs. In addition to his duties at the lab, Snehal has been very eager to expand his knowledge, completing the ResNet tutorial early on and doing exceptionally well on it. Snehal’s knowledge of computers is extensive, covering Windows systems, Mac systems, and *Nix. He even has extensive hardware troubleshooting knowledge which is not usually found in consultants. He also volunteered to participate in a video project for our New Employee Training. Snehal has time and time again proven to be one of our most reliable consultants, and never fails to help people, students, staff, faculty, and even his co-workers with a positive attitude. For all these reasons, we have chosen Snehal as our Spring 2009 Consultant of the Semester. {ms,lg,lw}
Ryan Beauchea
Operations Supervisor Achievement Award
Ryan Beauchea started working with the Help Desk in the Fall of 2007 and was quickly promoted up through the ranks to Operations Student Supervisor and most recently to Help Desk Student (CSq) Supervisor. Along the way Ryan has accepted a lot of framable hardware, including: Consultant of the Month for October 2007, Operations Achievement Awards both Fall 2007 and Spring 2008, as well as the Operations Supervisor of the Semester Fall 2008 and now this semester. Ryan has actively taken the lead in many of our on-going projects and has done a superb job with all of them. His wireless work the last few months with the scheduling team has proven to be invaluable to the group. For all of his efforts, we congratulate Ryan once again. {jf}
Tyler Beauchea
Operations Consultant Achievement Award
Tyler began working for Operations in the Spring of 2009. A steadfast worker, Tyler always performs his duties to the best of his abilities. He successfully learned what was needed for the position very quickly and ended up working a significant number of shifts for us this semester, including some that were very difficult for us to fill. He is both ambitious and easy-going, two personality traits that we really appreciate. Tyler also frequently picks up coverage from other Operators. In his spare time he is also an experimental chef; one that loves to cook the healthiest and tastiest of foods. Not only do we appreciate Tyler’s dedication and excellent work ethic at Operations, but we're also hoping that he will allow us to taste his cooking someday. It is these qualities and more that make Tyler our choice for Consultant of the Semester. Congratulations Tyler! {fd,jf}
Will Stoffers
ResNet Consultant Achievement Award
There's very little new that we can say about Will that hasn't been said already in the three Consultant of the Month awards that he has earned, but that's part of the reason that he deserves the Consultant Achievement Award for the Spring Semester of 2009; all of his previous accolades are every bit as true now as they were when he first received them. All of us who work with Will know that he consistently embodies the best of Residential Networking – a combination of exemplary customer service and excellent technical understanding. He approaches every problem with a calm and considerate manner, no matter how difficult the problem may be, and is always ready to help others out. Because of his sense of humor and great attitude, he makes the Help Desk a better place to work; because of his knowledge and friendliness, he helps consultants and users through difficult issues. Will’s accomplishments are even more impressive when you notice that he has also been completing a mechanical-aerospace engineering degree and is an active member of the Rutgers ballroom dance team; he makes excelling at a variety of activities look incredibly easy. He will be graduating with a bachelor's this May and has been accepted into the Master's program at Rutgers - we look forward to working with him in the fall! For everything you've done, Will, thank you and congratulations! {sl}
