Communication is done by accessing shared objects.

In a shared memory machine, all processors have access to a

single memory space.

Problem: Not highly scalable, only so many of the processors can

access memory at any given time. Therefore, the bus bandwidth is

very important.

Examples: SGI Power Onyx, Convex
