Internet
Users with Internet access may wish to investigate the newsgroup comp.soft-sys.spss, a worldwide question-and-answer forum on USENET for users of SPSS software. As with all USENET newsgroups, it is recommended that you spend some time observing and learning the "netiquette" of the group before you post messages of your own.
**This manual is written primarily for those using the SPSS Motif-based user interface, which requires an X-terminal or X-terminal emulation software. All examples within the manual assume that the user is interacting with SPSS through the Motif-based display. Nevertheless, this manual, in combination with SPSS Base System: Syntax Reference Guide, Release 5.0, provides useful information for all users of Base SPSS software. Of particular value are Appendix C and Appendix G, both of which are applicable to the use of SPSS with characterbased (e.g., VT100) terminals.
